Dolphin View Eco Lodge
Overview
Nestled between the sea, the lagoon and the salt pans at the tip of the Kalpitiya town lies Dolphin View Eco Lodg, a Robinson Crusoe hideaway.
Dolphin View Eco Lodge, the first and today the only tourist accommodation in the area has the charm of a dessert Island, the beauty of Bali and the magic of Madagascar, with luxury chalets to cabanas, with a restaurant specializing in the local sea food, you will be able to relax, unwind and chill with the donkeys. Only a 10 minutes boat ride from the sea and the passage to the Dolphins you can Island hop, go fishing, diving, canoeing visit the 300 sq. km red bar reef and the start of the marine sanctuary. Walking through the villages that have changed little over the centuries, the flora and fauna and the wild life will be different from anything you have seen before.
The seasons may come and go as does the colour of sea and lagoon but this will not deter you from some local site seeing;Eg:- The Dutch church, Forts and Willpattu Sanctuary (Soon to be reopen), trips further a field could include to Sigiriya, Anuradhapura ancient city and lots more.
Accommodation
Dolphin view eco lodge has four chalet’s all built with a lagoon view. There is also a common area for guest to dine. This is an eco lodge hence we don’t have fans and air conditioners but Kalpitiya weather is very pleasant and the blowing from the Indian ocean is enough to keep you cool. We have running tap water and between 6 PM -11 PM we have electricity through a generator. The bathrooms are very clean and some may even consider them to be modern.
